Abstract

This study shows that Mulk Raj Anand has exposed caste and class conflict which was in practice in the Indian society and its culture. Mulk Raj Anand was most prolific of all Indian writers of his age. Even though he was born in Hindu family, he never hesitated to expose how poor and downtrodden are suppressed and treated badly in the society. The paper deals with the character's suffering and misery, the individual’s difficulties in the facing them with illustrations from the novel.
